Tinashe Taps Hitmaka for New Album ‘Nashe’

Posted by

Just over 2 months since Tinashe finally released her sophomore album, Joyride, after nearly 4 years of false-starts and pushbacks, it appears she is already hard at work on her third album.

Last month wasn’t the best of times for the West Coast songstress, after she learned that her boyfriend of seven months, NBA player Ben Simmons, cheated on her with Kendall Jenner. However, the upside to this is that she appears to have relieved that pain by incorporating it into her new music.

Taking to Twitter to inform fans of his upcoming work, Yung Berg aka Hitmaka, tweeted:

Tinashe previously worked with Hitmaka when he produced Joyride‘s third single, “Me So Bad,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana. Although “Me So Bad” was a tropical dance-pop inspired track, the new material between the two is more in line with the material they are known for; Hip-Hop and alternative R&B. Through his Snapchat story, Hitmaka shared a barrage of snippets from Tinashe’s new album, Nashe:

Fire, absolute fire.

This is the sound that made people fall in love with Tinashe. Sonically, it seems that Nashe will be a album made of turn-up and break-up anthems. Based on the snippets, it offers plenty of tracks that bring on the vibes of her most well-known singles, such as, “2 On” or “All Hands On Deck,” while also catering to the hardcore fans who favor the dark, moody R&B sounds that she brought to the table on her mixtapes, Blackwater and Nightride.

In the meantime, Tinashe is gearing up for summer touring, as she has secured a multitude of music festival placements. On Instagram, she shared a rehearsal clip for the choreography of Joyride‘s, “Ooh La La,” a fan favorite:

When it comes to Ms. Kachingwe, the quality never dies, and we can’t wait to hear what she brings on Nashe.
